Trek: Day 2

When we woke up, we had a family devotional about keeping our covenants.  We all committed to keep our covenants from that day on, signed our little flag, and hung it on the back of our handcart.
Thanks to the amazing food committee, we never went hungry.  We had some breakfast and packed up our things so we could be ready to go.
When we were all packed and ready to go, it was off on the trail again.

When we made it to Greasewood Creek, we stopped for another vignette.
This time we heard from Richelle.
And then it was time to get back on the trail.
Day two was hotter, dryer, and much more miserable than day one, and the blisters were setting in, so we made a few more stops that day along the way.
The kids played some games and we all sat around a bit.
When we finally got back to the trail, the wind picked up a little more and the heat and the dust became a lot more annoying.
And then I needed to pee.  So these great ladies helped give me some much needed privacy.
After a few hours on the trail, we had a few members of the company start to drop.  Poor Mikelle got so sick that she decided to go home.  We were sad to lose a member of our family. It was a miserable, dirty day, but when we got to camp, we were greeted by our trusty food committee ready to revive us.
We were all ready for dinner when the time came.
And while we waited for testimony meeting, there were some pretty competitive games of Rump Ratchet.
And the winner was Bishop Thatcher.  Sorry, Mike!
Then the Pony Express arrived to deliver the mail.
The kids enjoyed their letters from their parents.
Day 2 ended in a testimony meeting and great discussion with President Gordon and the kids about standing in holy places.  What a great day!
