Bryant had his tonsils and adenoids removed last week. He's needed them out for a long, long time. Every time he was sick he had croup, his airway closed off and he could hardly breathe at all at night. It was time.
We took Bryant to see Dr. Scheuller in Ogden. He was so excited to be able to eat frozen treats all week and stay home from school. They wheeled him into surgery in a little red wagon. The doctor said he was the perfect patient and didn't make a peep. That's my brave boy (of course, only when it comes to medical things)!
This was Bryant in recovery holding his new little stuffed animal from the surgical center. He looks good in the picture but he sure wasn't feeling too hot. The doctor said it was a good thing we had his tonsils removed because when he squeezed them when he took them out, he said that they were completely rotten (and, I'll just leave it at that).
Bryant was excited to be able to be wheeled out in a wheel chair. He must have been feeling better for a minute because he asked the nurse if he could do it himself.
The poor kid started feeling sick on the way home. I kept telling Mike to pull over but he wouldn't do it until he got off the freeway, so Bryant puked all over the front of him and the side of the van. Awesome. I wasn't too happy.
Bryant was pretty whiney and wouldn't talk for about a week but he is feeling all better now and I am grateful. I don't know how many more days of grunting like Frankenstein I could take.
