Canoeing

 Mike took the day off today to hang out with the fam.  We rented some canoes and headed to the lake for some fun.

 The kids were excited for their first time in a canoe.  They loved helping us paddle.  Well, most of the time.

We paddled across the lake, heading toward the channels.  The water was pretty smooth but Hallie and I had a tough time getting there.  She couldn't figure out how to paddle.

 We finally made it across the lake but realized that the channels were closed since water fowl season just ended.

 Bummer.

 So it was back to the canoes and back across the lake.

 Unfortunately, the wind picked up and it was a lot harder to get back.

 We had a hard time trying not to get blown back to shore.

We finally made it through the choppy water and my handsome little guy pulled me to shore.

 After we got the boats out of the water, we had a little picnic.

 We ate lunch and fed the ducks the leftovers.

 The wind was too strong to go back out so we had to cut it short.  But we had a good time, anyway.
