We decided to head to the hills for some hiking this Memorial Day. First, we went up Little Cottonwood Canyon.
We made our way up to Lisa Falls and let the kids play in the water.
Hallie found us some "gold."
We loved that this hike was so short the "falls" were perfect for playing in.
And Bryant decided he could climb the mountain just like the rock climbers.
After Lisa Falls, we headed up the canyon to scope out some campsites. Afterward, we made our way back down the canyon and stopped at the temple quarry where the early Saints cut the stone from the canyon and hauled it back to the temple site.
We found a little cave where we could cool off.
And lots of huge boulders to climb.
Cameron was a little nervous on the way down.
Then we played in the river. We had so much fun throwing rocks and getting soaked.
And trying to build bridges.
And when we finished there, we went up Big Cottonwood Canyon to look for more campsites and hike some more trails.
Apparently we hiked the trail to Donut Falls. Too bad we didn't know where we were going, or I think we would have gone the whole way. Maybe next time.
We still had a great time.
And even had our own little "Sound of Music" moments.
And after about 2 minutes in the car, Cameron was asleep, Bryant was feeling sick and I was ready to puke. Needless to say, Cameron went straight to bed, I made it to the bathroom in time and Bryant puked on the side of the freeway about 2 minutes away from the Redwood Exit. Of course, our perfect day had to end some time.

Gah! Still feeling pukey? No fun! But I'm glad you guys had such a great day together. The weather was perfect. So did you find any great campsites? We're trying to find a few ourselves. You'll have to let us know. We'll glean off of your hard work! ;)
