Saturday afternoon we headed to Willard Bay to take the boat out for the first time.
The kids were super excited.
But it wasn't looking so good out there.
Fortunately for the kids, Mike was just as excited and insisted that we take it out for a little ride.
So we did.
The first few seconds were good... until we started to move.
Cameron was a little nervous (for the first time in his life) because the waves were so bad.
I really thought we might capsize. Especially when we got to open water. And that's when we realized how crazy we were and turned around.
Five minutes. That's it.
And to Mike and the kids, it was worth it.
Since we had the rest of the afternoon to kill...
We went to our favorite country store to have some fun. And $150 later, mission accomplished-- a fun-filled Saturday afternoon.

Hooray! I missed the part where you broke a bottle of sparkling cider on the hull of the boat for it's maiden voyage, however. ;) There will be plenty of other wonderful-weather days. And you're right - Mike looks totally happy! So fun! P.S. WHAT did you BUY @ Smith and Edwards?!
ReplyDeleteIt was still a fun day. We bought quite a few things. It started getting dangerous so we had to hurry up and leave. We got new backpacks for the kids, a pool skimmer for the font in the stake center, a dutch oven with cover and a few other little things I don't remember. Good times.
ReplyDeleteHow fun Ang! Livin' the dream! You guys look so happy!
